MEDIA ADVISORY + COMMUNITY INVITATION
Rockford, IL — Rockford Area Pride is excited to announce its Float & Entry Competition as part of the 2026 Rockford Area Pride Parade, taking place on Saturday, June 6 at 12:00 PM. Community organizations, businesses, artists, and individuals are invited to participate and showcase their creativity, pride, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year’s parade will feature a friendly competition highlighting standout entries that embody the spirit of Pride. Awards will be presented in three categories:
Best in Show — Recognizing the most visually striking and creative overall entry
Most Inclusive — Honoring entries that best celebrate diversity, equity, and representation
Most Local Pride — Celebrating entries that highlight Rockford’s unique community spirit and hometown pride
Participants are encouraged to design floats or walking entries that are bold, vibrant, and reflective of the values of Pride: visibility, inclusion, and celebration. Whether you’re a first-time participant or a returning favorite, this is an opportunity to engage with the community and make a meaningful impact.
Winners will be selected by the honorary grand marshals.
How to Participate: Interested participants can register their float or entry by submitting a 2026 Parade Entry at: https://www.rockfordareapride.org/parade-entry. Space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
The Rockford Area Pride Parade is one of the region’s most anticipated annual events, bringing together thousands of attendees in celebration of love, identity, and community.
