Norm Knott

Norm Knott

Norm Knott is celebrated for his decades-long contributions to LGBTQIA+ advocacy and the arts in Rockford. An artist working in mixed media and jewelry, his work explores human rights and social awareness. As an early activist in the 1970s, he helped build visibility for the LGBTQ+ community and continues to shape Rockford’s cultural landscape through both art and advocacy.

Shelton Kay

Shelton Kay

Shelton Kay is recognized for his leadership in advancing health equity and supporting vulnerable populations across the region. As Executive Director of the Rockford Regional Health Council, he leads initiatives that improve access to care, health literacy, and overall community health outcomes. His work also includes involvement with the Rock River Homeless Coalition and HIV education and outreach efforts, supporting at-risk populations.

Lien Vu

Lien Vu

Lien Vu is honored for her leadership and dedication to building inclusive spaces. A founding Board Member of The LIAM Foundation and a leader at Rock Valley College, she advances equity, education, and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Through the Safe Zone Program and her mentorship, she helps create safer, more inclusive environments, particularly for queer people of color.
